Naachiyaar by Bala, has music scored by Ilaiyaraaja. Bala has joined hands with cinematographer, Eswar and editor, Sathish Suriya for the first time in creating a film that is far from film grammar that he is most comfortable with. Bala has explored areas that he hasn’t ventured into for almost two decades of his career span. The film was positively received by critics and audiences and did well in box-office.
